Develop Your Mission

Developing a mission with ImplementSpace is a collaborative process designed to take your technology, experiment, or demonstrator from design through to flight —quickly, securely, and with full mission support.

We work with teams at different stages of readiness. For missions, having a well-developed payload design helps ensure schedules, costs, and mission parameters can be set early. For teams still shaping their idea, our consulting group can support development from the very beginning.

Jump to End

Who This Is For

This mission pathway is ideal for organisations that:

  • Have a clear objective for what they want to test, demonstrate, or validate
  • Have invested effort into designing their payload or experiment
  • Are seeking fast, flexible access to flight environments
  • Want a partner to execute the mission from planning through to completion

If your payload is still at an earlier stage, ImplementSpace Consulting can help you mature the concept before transitioning into a flight mission.

What You Bring

To begin developing a mission, your payload should be beyond a high-level concept and have enough definition to support mission planning.

This typically includes:

  • A technology demonstrator, experiment, or test article with a defined purpose
  • A preliminary or evolving design
  • An understanding of how the payload operates
  • Initial power, data, timing, and environmental considerations
  • Known constraints or sensitivities

If some details are still being refined, that’s completely fine — we’ll help resolve them during mission definition.

The Mission Development Process

1. Initial Mission Discussion

We start with an introductory discussion to understand:

  • Your mission goals and success criteria
  • Your payload concept and current level of maturity
  • Which ImplementSpace Mission aligns best with yours.

This conversation helps identify the most effective path forward — whether directly into mission development or via additional consulting support.

2. Confidentiality & NDA

Once there is mutual interest, we put a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place.

This allows open and detailed discussion of technical, commercial, and operational aspects of the mission.

3. Detailed Mission Definition

With confidentiality established, we work together to develop the mission in detail, covering:

  • Payload interfaces and integration approach
  • Operational concepts and mission phases
  • Power, data, thermal, and environmental needs
  • Handling, safety, and compliance considerations

The goal is to bring clarity and confidence to the mission so planning, pricing, and scheduling can proceed smoothly.

4. Pricing & Contracting

Based on the agreed mission definition, ImplementSpace provides:

  • A clear, mission-specific pricing proposal
  • Defined scope, responsibilities, and deliverables
  • A schedule outlining key milestones and payload delivery dates

Once agreed, the mission is formally contracted and moves into execution.

5. Mission Operations & Integration

From this point, ImplementSpace leads mission delivery, including:

  • Mission operations planning
  • Regulatory and compliance coordination
  • Payload integration and verification
  • Launch campaign preparation

You provide your payload in line with the agreed schedule — we handle the rest.

6. Launch & Mission Execution

Your payload flies aboard the ImplementSpace mission, executed in accordance with the agreed mission plan and objectives.

7. Recovery & Return (If Applicable)

If the mission includes payload recovery, ImplementSpace coordinates:

  • Recovery operations
  • Return or delivery of payloads as defined in the contract

8. Mission Conclusion

After mission completion:

  • Mission outcomes are confirmed
  • Deliverables are finalised
  • The mission is formally conclude

Your payload completes the mission with valuable data, experience, and flight heritage.

Not Ready Yet?

If you’re still at the early stages — exploring ideas, shaping requirements, or designing your payload — ImplementSpace Consulting can support you from the very beginning.

Our consulting team helps translate early concepts into flight-ready designs, providing technical guidance, mission architecture support, and development planning.
